Estes Park Wedding Photos taken by Taylor Nicole Photography | Colorado Wedding Photographer
Bryan & Kira were married on Leap day 2020 at the Estes Park Resort. When I first met with Bryan & Kira I could see right away these two were just made for each other. Right away there was a sense of mutual comfort and respect for one another. It was SO fun to learn more about their love story too! Bryan and Kira met just days before Leap Day in 2016, they talked early on about how nice it would be to have a Leap Day wedding, and then it became their reality! Kira said “I first knew he was the one when we were driving down to my home town and chose our children’s names (dinosaur middle names).”
Bryan said he knew “Instantly. After we had picked our wedding date (2 months into dating). I had just never met a more upfront, intelligent, horror loving, gorgeous woman in my life. I cant say I knew it would be forever, but I had hoped it would be for the first time in my life. We just fit. Crude sense of humor, personal/professional ambitions, approaches to aspects of life including finances/politics/family.”
Their proposal story is so sweet and full of their character as a couple? Here is the proposal from Bryan’s point of view-
“I rushed out to zoes about a half hour ahead of Kira coming from work “so we could take our Christmas card photos there” and worked on setting up. I hung an ‘intervention’ banner (because “its been too long”) and laid out a pathway of the zoes coffee mugs with tea light candles inside. At each mug was a photo of us from each of the months we had been together. The plan was to propose, have my prepared dinner, and watch Deadpool (‘our movie’) together with the whole cafe to ourselves. Well Kira walks in, expecting that I was setting up for some other event and had to quadruple take before catching on to what was going on. I got down on one knee, tried to tell her what she meant to me, proposed, and she said it NO (yes really) she thought it would be funny….”
Obviously the story didn’t end there! The best part about their leap day wedding is their anniversary plans! They said, “We chose our wedding anniversary for Leap Day so that on the odd years we can celebrate how we want and when we want without restrictions and every 4 years we can go big and travel! We also met on a Leap year so our “every 4 years” plan is consistent.”
So there you have it, proof that they are the best couple ever! I loved getting to spend time with them on their wedding day, we drove into the national park together so I had extra time to get to know them on their best day!
